	Braided Packing We stock the two most commonly used braided packings also known as rope packing. 1) Style PM # 1 - A square braided (plaited) PTFE impregnated special syntex fiber, each strand is impregnated with PTFE dispersion both prior to and after braiding. Finished packing has a break-in lubricant. Good chemical resistance, and can be used as an asbestos replacement packing for general service applications. 2) Style PM # 2 - A square braided Graphite packing. A syntex fiber packing throughly impregnated with a high temperture lubricant. Finished packing is coated with Graphite. An asbestos replacement for general service on pumps & valves. 	Caps & Plugs The caps, plugs and other plastic components available from Rocket Seals are manufactured from a variety of materials including low and high density polyethylene, silicon rubber and vinyl. 	Fastener and Fitting Seals Stat-O-Seals - are one piece molded in place seals with the rubber sealing element mechanically locked in the metal retainer. They are designed to seal beneath the head of the fastener for both internal and external pressure systems. Thredseals - are mechanical not chemical in application. They can be assembled and removed, do not need "set-up" time and are easily parted from contacting surfaces with out special tools or chemicals. This makes it possible to gain access to sealed areas. 	Chevrons / VEE Packing A chevron stack is usually made up of three components. These are the top (female), center (vee), and bottom (male). 	Pip Rings The PIP seal combines a Type B loaded u-cup (PolyPak) with a pressure inverted pedestal which will convert the Type B seal into a bi-directional device.The PIP seal needs only a single groove and can be installed on one-piece pistons in most cases, thus saving space, increasing the bearing length of the piston and reducing the number of piston components involved. 	"Q"-Rings A "Q"-Rings is a four-lobed seal. The four-lobed design provides twice the sealing surface of a comparable standard O-ring and because of this double-seal action, less squeeze is required to maintain an effective seal. This reduction in squeeze means less friction and therefore, improved seal life. Unlike O-rings, where parting lines are on the sealing surface, Q-ring seals' parting lines lie between the lobes, away from the sealing surface. This design eliminates the problems of leakage often resulting from a parting line's irregular surface. Q-ring seals can be used as compression-type seals in high speed rotary applications, eliminating the need for costlier spring-loaded seals.
