Silicone O-Rings
The term "silicone" covers a large group of materials in which vinyl-methyl-silicone (VMQ) is often the central ingredient.
Silicones are excellent seal materials for extreme temperatures in static applications. Silicone is very good for ozone and UV radiation.
Standard Durometer & Colors
The standard durometer for silicone O-Rings typically ranges from 50 to 70 Shore A, but they can also be made in other durometers, such as 30, 40, 80, and 90, depending on specific application requirements. They're available in a variety of colors, with the most common being red, orange, black, white, and translucent.
Temperature Range for Silicone O-Rings
Temperature ranges can go from minus 100°F to 250°F.
Recommended Use of Silicone O-Rings
Silicone can be formulated to be electrically insulative or conductive, it is suitable for a wide range of electrical applications.
